Patna Junction PNBE Railway Station

Patna Junction Railway Station is the main station serving Patna, Bihar. It lies on the important Delhi-Kolkata rail route, with over 280 Express and Superfast trains passing through it daily. This makes Patna Junction an important railway link connecting eastern India with the rest of the country.

Patna Junction has one of the largest AC waiting halls in Indian Railways, with space for over 500 passengers. You can find comfortable seating, 65-inch TV screens, washrooms, and LED lighting inside. The walls also feature traditional Madhubani paintings from Bihar. 

• Retiring Rooms

Patna Junction Railway Station has AC and non-AC retiring rooms, along with dormitories. Rooms 1 to 14 are near Platform 1, while rooms 15 to 22 are on the Platform 10 side of the station.

There is an AC Executive Lounge near the Patna Junction station entrance where you can order food from the menu or choose an unlimited buffet for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Paid parking is available at both the Karbigahiya and GPO sides. A new premium parking facility has also been introduced on the Mahavir Mandir side (main entrance) with CCTV surveillance and a digital ticketing system.

• By Local Bus

You can take a BSRTC city bus to reach Patna Junction. Most buses stop at the Patna Junction Bus Stop. From here, the station is just a 10-minute walk away.

• By Intercity Bus

If you are coming to Patna by an intercity bus, you may be dropped at the ISBT Patliputra Bus Stand. From there, you can take a local bus, auto, or taxi to reach the station. 

Always check where your bus will drop you and if a closer drop-off point is possible.

• By Auto-Rickshaw or Taxi

Autos and taxis are widely available in Patna and can take you directly to the station. When booking a ride, check which side of the station is more convenient for your platform - the main station side or the Karbigahiya side.

• From Patna Airport

App-based cabs and prepaid taxis are available from Patna Airport. It will take you about 20-30 minutes to reach Patna Junction, depending on traffic.
