Tejas Express

Tejas Express was introduced by the Indian Railways in 2017 as a semi-high-speed train service with improved onboard facilities. The first Tejas Express ran between Mumbai and Goa, covering about 550 km in around 8 hours and 30 minutes. The aim was to offer a more modern travel experience compared to regular trains.

Tejas Express runs on a few important intercity routes and offers only air-conditioned Chair Car and Executive Chair Car seating. These trains are operated by IRCTC, making them among the first private trains in India. These trains are equipped with several first-of-their-kind features, including more food options, infotainment screens, and automatic doors, placing them among the most premium trains in India.

Tejas Express Ticket Prices

Tejas Express ticket prices vary depending on the travel distance, seat class, and general demand. But since these trains are premium trains with top-class facilities, Tejas Express ticket prices tend to be higher than those of Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Vande Bharat trains on the same routes.

Moreover, Tejas Express train ticket prices change dynamically. This means fares will vary during the lean, busy, and festive seasons.
